This is the CD of the new Magenta album 'The White Witch - A Symphonic Trilogy'.
It comes in digi-file format with an 8 page booklet.
Magenta's brand new, and long awaited, 9th studio album sees a major change in direction from past works. A fully orchestrated affair with no drums or bass anywhere to be found (sorry Dan and Jiffy :) ) with Christina, like a fine wine, getting better with age and really gelling gloriously with the music. Chris Fry provides a classical guitar clinic which certainly augments the overall lush sound and that brings us to Robert Reed. While composers like Hans Zimmer, John Williams and Howard Shore are at the forefront of modern day film music scores, Rob succeeds in producing, arranging and adapting Magenta's unique sound so that he stands alongside some of the greatest composers of the modern era.
'White Witch - A Symphonic Trilogy' will take you on a musical exploration the likes of which you've never experienced.

lyrics
Through plague and war, down through the mists of time, history repeating itself. Each event more devastating than the last.
Sara, a gift to mankind, her power to heal, her gift of such immense insight - all shining a light in the world’s darkest hours. Always there with a helping hand for those in need. Always there with a shoulder to weep upon. Always there to show us the way…
Through the years a sister’s guiding hand
Down the path of wisdom born of truth
Leads me to the broken and the lost
It’s in my heart
A cry for help, a hand held to the sky
Staring at an image of the past
Footsteps echoed following the path
To give my heart
Walking life’s pathways
Making me stronger, I’m so much stronger now
One by one, together now
On and on, together now
Looking at the faces of a child
Lying there so helpless and alone
Sadness in their eyes and in their souls
It breaks my heart
Reaching out to catch them when they fall
Raised back up to see a golden sun
Join as one to reach a common goal
Love fills my heart
Walking life’s pathways
Making me stronger, I’m so much stronger now
One by one, together now
On and on, together now
For everyone I meet
For every life I touch
With love and joy to ease their pain
With love and joy to ease their pain
The hopes and fears that bind us all
Will fade away to hear the call
And everyone will know
Give them your life
It’s in your soul
In everyone
In every one of us
But time
I’ll take you there
To lift them up
We make them whole
We set them free again
A chance for life
To free your soul
For all the world that cries in vain
Just to be there
You hear my voice
Just speak my name
Let go your mind
And let me in
Raise your hands
Open your heart
Take the vow
Protecting all life
Hold your hands
A world filled with love
And take this vow
Child of Mother Earth
You take this vow
We’ll take this vow
Mother Earth

The third Sanctuary album is also the best of the trilogy. This one dares even more to expand the Oldfieldian style in new and exciting directions. It may be sacrilege to suggest it, but if this *were* a genuine Oldfield album, many might say it was one of his best, too. It's true that Rob Reed is standing on the shoulders of a giant, but he is a giant talent in his own right.
Often the music brings tears to the eyes, as if it were the soundtrack to the climax of a hard-won cinematic story. nickgreen90125

The album takes off nicely with David Longdon's "The Strangest Times", but then gets into immediate free fall and deeply underwater for the next few tracks, quite unexpectedly. Fortunately, it recovers with Nick D'Virgilio's "Apollo" (hey, this guy CAN write good music, although he hides this ability most of the time) and the remaining three tracks, one of which is another Longdon masterpiece. So in the end the final impression is somewhat in the positive range. Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)

Fell in love with BBT recently, absolutely love the stories they tell and the music.
Very sad to hear about David’s passing, listening now is quite moving, moved to tears from time to time, but we move on as I hope BBT will with David in our hearts. tonyauroristony58
